Two storey glazed gable extension located in Whiteshill, near Stroud. The extension is built into the hillside and features a sheltered inset balcony from the main bedroom which provides stunning views across the Five Valleys, together with sliding high performance glass doors which open the new kitchen dining space to the terrace.

The design sympathetically connects to the existing historic Cotswold cottage, using natural materials such as larch cladding and zinc which will weather and soften in appearance. A highly insulated timber frame construction retains heat during colder weather, reducing energy consumption. The timber frame is expressed throughout the exterior and interior creating a warm and welcoming home environment, connected to its rural setting. In particular the glazed gable provides an impressive main bedroom with aluminium timber composite doors opening onto a roof terrace balcony to enjoy the morning sunrise.
