Nearing Completion at St Mary's House

The build is nearing completion at St Mary’s House. The new spaces provide generous open-plan living, kitchen and dining spaces which open out with sliding glass doors and views in all directions.

The external walls are finished with zinc, glass and Cotswold stone, with crisp contemporary detailing. This enhances the texture and bold forms of the design, whilst ensuring the roof structure still feels lightweight in appearance.

Roof lights and horizon strip windows draw indirect light into the north side of the rooms. Sliding glass doors to the south and east roll back to create a vast open space, allowing for shaded al-fresco dining spaces internally. This also allows for generous ventilation throughout the rooms, keeping it cool and pleasant on a summer’s day. The roof is cantilevered at these points, ensuring there is no structure impeding views to the gardens and valley beyond.
